All You Need to Get Started on Cardmaking (Part 1)

Introduction

Making cards is fun and easy! The best part about card-making supplies is that they are inexpensive and widely available. All the items that I mention below can be found at our onlinestore. So grab some friends and get ready to create some awesome cards!

Cardstock

Cardstock is a type of paper that can be used for a variety of projects. The main difference between cardstock and regular paper is that cardstock is thicker than regular paper. You can find cardstock at most office supply stores, and online papercraft supply stores like us.

Cardstock comes in different colors, weights (thickness), and textures. You can choose different types of cardstock based on what you want to use it for. Cardstock is perfect for card making, scrapbooking, and other paper craft works because it holds up well to glue or glue stick without tearing or folding over on itself when gluing down layers together. It's also sturdy enough to punch holes through without tearing or wrinkling the surface. Papercrafters often use heavyweight card stock paper for their layouts because it can hold up under multiple layers of photos and embellishments without buckling or curling up at the edges.

Adhesives

Adhesives come in so many different types that can help you get the job done. Adhesives can be categorized in so many ways, for example: dry and wet. Dry adhesives are generally used on paper, while wet adhesives work best on glossy surfaces such as photos or cardstock. What type of adhesive you need depend on what kind of project you are working on. Whether you have chosen the proper adhesive can greatly influence how your craftwork looks.

Stamps

Stamps are a great way to add some character to your cards. Stamps come in all shapes, sizes, and designs--some are self-inking, while others require you to use an ink pad. Some stamps can be used over and over again, while other stamps may only be used once or twice before the ink wears off. Stamps are great for creating cards, scrapbook pages, and other crafts. They come in many different designs, from floral borders to animal print patterns, allowing you to beautiful crafts as you like.

Acrylic Blocks

A stamp block is a must-have tool for any cardmaker and scrapbooker. They are used in combination with clear stamps. You can stick your clear stamps on the block to create beautiful patterns on cards or scrapbook pages and give your handmade creations a professional look.

Stamping Ink

Stamping ink is one of the most basic of all cardmaking supplies. You can use it to create custom designs and text on your cards, or you can stamp an image directly onto the cardstock itself. Cardmakers use stamping ink in a variety of ways:

They may use a single-color pad with a stamping tool to add patterns and designs to their projects.

They may also purchase separate pads for each color used in their project (for example, red, blue, and green). This allows them greater control over how much color goes into each area of the design so there aren't any unwanted streaks or lines across its surface when finished out at home by another person who doesn't know how much pressure should be applied while using these tools properly!
